Eastern Area Mental Health Services
The FaPMI program works with mental health, family support, alcohol and drug and community health services in the Eastern Metropolitan Region to improve the way support is provided to families and children where a parent has a mental illness.
The Eastern Health FaPMI Initiative works in 4 main areas:
- Develop the capability of the mental health, family support, alcohol and drug and community health workforce to work with Families where a Parent has a Mental Illness.
- Promote the development of systems and procedures to recognise and respond appropriately to Families where a Parent has a Mental Illness
- Facilitate avenues for consultation and referral between mental health, AOD, Maternal, infant, child and family services
- Promote agencies to work in partnership in the region to address gaps and needs for Families where a Parent has a Mental Illness
- The after school program is a structured 8 week program for 8-12yr old children during school term in different venues in the Eastern Metropolitan Region
- The school holiday program is about 4 day program run for families in different venues in the Eastern Metropolitan Region
- Camps are a 2 night 3 day program for a specific age ranges
Supported Playgroup for parents with a mental illness and their young (0-5 year old) children.
