Southern Health Area Mental Health Services
Southern Health Area Mental Health Services has employed a FaPMI coordinator since August 2009 and is currently funded at 1EFT. The FaPMI Coordinator is based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton in Nursing Education and works collaboratively with the Consumer and Carer Directorate, who have employed a project worker with a lived experience.
In addition, the FaPMI coordinator provides secondary consultation to Child FIRST (Narre Warren), Connections and Integrated Family Services.
The FaPMI coordinator is currently undertaking a number of strategic developments in the Dandenong region, including:
- Provision of family-focused promotional resources to Adult Mental Health
- Collaboration with various Young Carer organisations, of both a recreational and peer support nature.
- Assistance with the development of the state-wide training package for the COPMI e-learning resource.
- The development of a steering committee comprising of relevant local stakeholders.
