Two FaPMI coordinators are working part-time to make up the 1 full-time, recurrent, position for Latrobe Regional Hospital Mental Health Service. The original part-time FaPMI position was recruited to in October 2007 with the additional part-time position beginning in March 2009. These positions work collaboratively with Child FIRST at Kilmany Uniting Care, Anglicare Victoria and Gippsland Lakes Community Health.
Work undertaken to date has included:
- Education to clinicians of mental health services;
- Primary, secondary and tertiary consultation;
- Collaborative work with Child FIRST, Kilmany Uniting Care, and Maternal, Child Health in developing and running a New Parents Group for new parents who have a mental illness;
- Provision of resources to workers and families, appropriate to program.
