Student tools

Learning Management System (LMS) - Moodle

Moodle is used by some lecturers and tutors to deliver course content online. Not all subjects utilise this application. You will be informed as to whether the unit you are studying will be available via the LMS when classes commence.

Student email

As a student enrolled at La Trobe University (Bouverie campus), you will be issued with a University email account.  Please check this email regularly as it will be the primary method of communication regarding academic and administrative matters. Your student email address is: For new students, your student ID can be found on your statement of account. Follow the prompts to set up your login credentials.

It is highly recommended you forward your student email to another email address so you do not miss important information during the duration of your course and graduation information when you complete your course.


This electronic portal enables students to amend their personal details, view results, vary their enrolment, and more.

La Trobe University's library system

La Trobe’s library provides University staff and students with access to extensive physical and digital collections across all campuses.

Student Identification (ID) card

Student ID card holders are permitted to borrow from the library at Bundoora campus; print and photocopy at Bundoora campus; and may use the card as proof of student status off-campus for various concessions.

Student life


You will need to re-enrol via StudentOnline at the end of the academic year if you intend to continue studying in either Semester 1 or 2 of the following year.

You can also apply to withdraw or take a leave of absence from your course.

Academic calendar

As a La Trobe University student, you need to be aware of the key dates relating to your course (semesters, enrolment, census dates, exams, release of results and vacations).

Subject results will be sent to your email address and published on StudentOnLine.

Graduation and life beyond Bouverie

A graduation information pack and Conferring of an Award application form will be emailed to your Student email account when you are eligible to graduate.  You can choose to attend a graduation ceremony or have your award mailed to you. Read more

Getting help

  • We recommend that students seeking regular one-on-one clinical supervision from a qualified family therapist visit the Australian Association of Family Therapy to “Find a Therapist” in their local area.
  • La Trobe’s confidential counselling service provides individual and small-group counselling to help students explore and address any concerns they might have during their time at university, from dealing with exam stress to financial worries, depression and relationship difficulties.
  • Student Learning is designed to help you with demands of university study, including writing, reading, note-taking, oral presentations, time management, exam preparation and language skills.
  • Student IT support is the first point of call for students experiencing technical difficulties accessing or using key University IT systems (LMS, StudentOnLine, or email).
  • La Trobe University's Indigenous Student Services Unit offers culturally-sensitive support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students both applying and currently studying at the University. 
  • Equity and Diversity make a range of resources and services available to students with a disability or long term medical condition, who are applying or currently studying at La Trobe University.
